About

Advisory committee meetings come from the FDA calendar and the Federal Register notices, which name the application, the product and usually the sponsor. Each meeting's briefing documents, minutes with the recorded votes, and transcripts can be read. openFDA adds the complete response letters the agency has published, every drug application's approval and supplement history, Orange Book patents and exclusivities, device clearances and approvals, recalls by severity class, and current drug shortages.

Companies are listed under the FDA's own names, often abbreviated, and never by ticker. Vaccines, gene therapies and other biologics from the FDA's biologics centre are missing from the approval data, and the Orange Book covers small-molecule drugs only. Only the response letters the FDA chose to publish are there. An Orange Book expiry date is what the sponsor listed, not a forecast of when generics arrive.

Nothing to set up and no key to bring. Marvin Labs runs this connector, so it is on unless you turn it off under Connectors in settings.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Connector?
A Connector is an MCP server that Marvin Labs runs and authenticates. There is no URL to paste and no key to find: FDA is on for your account unless you turn it off. AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents call its tools when a question needs them, and the answer shows which tool was called and what it returned.
Does the FDA Connector require authentication?
No. Marvin Labs holds the FDA credentials and signs every request, so there is nothing to set up.
Does FDA change how financial data is sourced?
No. When a question can be answered from the filings, earnings calls, and press releases Marvin Labs ingests through Automated Data Import, it answers from those. FDA is used only when a question needs data those documents do not carry, and the answer attributes that output to it.
Where is FDA available?
In both AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents. Its tools stay out of the model's context until a request needs one, so an unused Connector takes up no context window.
