CourtListener is the Free Law Project's archive of U.S. court opinions, PACER dockets, oral arguments and judge profiles, with citations, financial disclosures, parties and attorneys alongside. It is the primary record for litigation a company discloses in a filing, as the court wrote it. It is run by a non-profit and free. PACER docket coverage depends on what contributors have bought and donated, so a case being absent is not evidence it does not exist, and usage is bounded by CourtListener's API rate limits.

- What is a Connector?
- A Connector is a remote MCP server that a third party runs and Marvin Labs knows how to reach. Marvin Labs supplies the endpoint and the setup; you bring your own CourtListener account. Once added, AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents call its tools when a question needs them, and the answer shows which tool was called and what it returned.
- Does the CourtListener Connector require authentication?
- Yes. Adding CourtListener opens its sign-in window, where you approve access with your own CourtListener account. Marvin Labs never sees your password; CourtListener issues a token you can revoke on its side at any time.
- Does CourtListener change how financial data is sourced?
- No. When a question can be answered from the filings, earnings calls, and press releases Marvin Labs ingests through Automated Data Import, it answers from those. CourtListener is used only when a question needs data those documents do not carry, and the answer attributes that output to it.
- Where is CourtListener available?
- In both AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents. Its tools stay out of the model's context until a request needs one, so an unused Connector takes up no context window.
