Ember publishes open electricity data: how each country makes its power, by fuel, with installed capacity, demand, power-sector emissions and grid carbon intensity, yearly for over 200 geographies and monthly for 88. It is the generation mix and emissions picture behind a utility, a grid or a country. Ember compiles national sources where EIA models, so the two disagree at the margin on generation, and answers say which one a figure came from. The data is under a Creative Commons Attribution licence, which answers credit.
Nothing to set up. Marvin Labs runs this connector and holds its credentials, so it is on unless you turn it off under Connectors in settings. Supply your own Ember key to get your own rate limit instead of the shared one. It is free and takes an email address and a verification click.

- A Connector is an MCP server that Marvin Labs runs and authenticates. There is no URL to paste and no key to find: Ember is on for your account unless you turn it off. AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents call its tools when a question needs them, and the answer shows which tool was called and what it returned.
- Does the Ember Connector require authentication?
- No. Marvin Labs holds the Ember credentials and signs every request, so there is nothing to set up. You can add your own Ember key under Connectors in settings to get your own rate limit instead of the shared one. It does not change which data the Connector returns.
- Does Ember change how financial data is sourced?
- No. When a question can be answered from the filings, earnings calls, and press releases Marvin Labs ingests through Automated Data Import, it answers from those. Ember is used only when a question needs data those documents do not carry, and the answer attributes that output to it.
- Where is Ember available?
- In both AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents. Its tools stay out of the model's context until a request needs one, so an unused Connector takes up no context window.
