Interactive Brokers' data is your own account: positions and cash balances, realized and unrealized P&L, multi-currency balances and order status. It puts a holding next to the research on it in the same thread. This is a live brokerage account, not a data subscription. The connector can draft trade instructions, but IBKR states that instructions never become orders automatically; you review and submit each one on an IBKR platform. Nothing here places an order.
You need an Interactive Brokers account. Click Add, log in on IBKR's secure screen when it opens and authorize a single account. No API key or password is shared. Treat the connection as you would your brokerage login.

- What is a Connector?
- A Connector is a remote MCP server that a third party runs and Marvin Labs knows how to reach. Marvin Labs supplies the endpoint and the setup; you bring your own Interactive Brokers account. Once added, AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents call its tools when a question needs them, and the answer shows which tool was called and what it returned.
- Does the Interactive Brokers Connector require authentication?
- Yes. Adding Interactive Brokers opens its sign-in window, where you approve access with your own Interactive Brokers account. Marvin Labs never sees your password; Interactive Brokers issues a token you can revoke on its side at any time.
- Does Interactive Brokers change how financial data is sourced?
- No. When a question can be answered from the filings, earnings calls, and press releases Marvin Labs ingests through Automated Data Import, it answers from those. Interactive Brokers is used only when a question needs data those documents do not carry, and the answer attributes that output to it.
- Where is Interactive Brokers available?
- In both AI Analyst Chat and Deep Research Agents. Its tools stay out of the model's context until a request needs one, so an unused Connector takes up no context window.
